What is Art Basel Miami?
Art Basel is an international art fair that was first staged in Basel, Switzerland in 1970. The goal of the fair was to promote the artwork of local institutions and to help grow and develop art programs.
Art Basel first came to Miami in 2002 and has now become North America’s premier art fair and one of the most anticipated events in Miami each year.
When is Art Basel Miami Beach?
Art Basel Miami Beach will be held form December 8th to 10th, 2023 with preview days on December 6th and 7th.
Should you go to Art Basel 2023?
Whether you are an absolute art enthusiast or someone whose never been to a museum, Art Basel Miami is a must-see event. Art Basel has become more than just an art show. It has become an international event surrounded by parties where fashion, luxury, pop culture, and music all collide.
Last year, celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Pharrell Williams, Martha Stewart, and Serena Williams were all in attendance.
Art Basel is a must if you want to come to an event where you can brush shoulders with some of the most rich, famous, and powerful people in the world.
Where is Art Basel Miami 2023 Held?
Art Basel Miami is held at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The Center is located at 1902 Convention Ctr Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139.
It’s only two blocks north of Lincoln Road which is one of the best shopping districts in all of Miami. It’s an amazing walkable street that is almost completely closed off to cars.
The Miami Beach Convention center is also just a few steps away from the Sunset Harbor Yacht Club which is home to numerous luxury yachts. Sunset Harbor is a great place to set sail on a Miami Yacht Rental while you are in town for Art Basel.

Things to Do in Miami Beach
1. Yacht or Boat Rental
One of the best ways to experience the city is from the water. You truly get a unique glimpse into the city from the water. Set sail from Miami Beach and cruise past Star Island, Palm Island and Hibiscus Island. You’ll get the chance to see incredible waterfront mansions that are closed off in gated communities. The only way to get a up close look at some of these houses is out on a boat rental.
You can also explore the incredible waterfront mansions along the Venetian Causeway. From there, you can loop around to Jungle Island Marina which is home to some of the largest mega yachts in the city. After gazing at these incredible yachts, you can keep sailing south past downtown Miami and Brickell Key. This is where you will get the absolute best views of the Miami skyline.
Keep cruising further south until you hit Key Biscayne and Nixon beach Sandbar. We always recommend stopping at the sandbar on your because it’s the perfect place to jump out and swim. You can enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Miami and cool off on a hot day. Not to mention, there are always tons of other boats and yachts at the sandbar. If you are looking to party or just relax in the water, Nixon Beach Sandbar is the perfect place to stop.
2. South Beach Bicycle Rental
Another great way to explore Miami Beach is on a bike rental with friends and family. Map out a route throughout Miami Beach so that you can stop along the way to grab a coffee, take in views of the bay, and marvel at the historic architecture of the city.
There are several places in Miami Beach that offer bicycle rentals at extremely affordable rates. It’s the perfect way to explore Miami Beach without having to dig too far into your wallet!
3. Collins Ave
Another easy way to explore Miami Beach is by talking a walk down Collins Ave and Ocean Drive. Both of these streets are the iconic and historic streets in Miami Beach. You will see all of the iconic architecture that makes Miami Beach such a distinct place. Not to Mention, Collins Ave and Ocean drive are home to some of the best restaurants in all of Miami Beach.
Final Thoughts
Art Basel is truly an incredible event. Billionaires travel from around the world to attend this expose of international art, fashion, and music. Some of the best parties of the year in Miami happen during Art Basel.
