Imagine yourself setting sail on a beautiful yacht in Miami. The sun is setting behind you and all of your friends and family are gathered together on a luxurious yacht. Everyone is there to see you and the person you love exchange vows out on the beautiful waters of Biscayne Bay. Hosting your wedding on a yacht in Miami is a unique and memorable way to celebrate this important milestone in your life.

Setting Sail on your Special Day

Miami is known for eclectic culture, amazing nightlife, and it’s warm sunny weather all year round. But Miami also offers couples a unique opportunity to tie the knot in style aboard a luxury yacht. Miami is home to some of the most beautiful waters on the eastern seaboard. With such a large selection of yacht rentals, you are sure to find the perfect vessel for you and your loved ones.

Selecting the Right Yacht

The first thing that you must consider is the number of people in your group! Due to United States Coast Guard regulations, almost all charter boats are limited to a maximum of 13 passengers regardless of the size of the vessel. The only boats that can take more than 13 passengers are boats with special certifications which are typically event boats. If you are 13 passengers or less, then you have the flexibility to rent a traditional yacht. However, if your group is larger than 13 passengers you will need to book an event yacht. Many of these event yachts have a capacity of over 100 people making them perfect for larger wedding groups. Additionally, many of these event boats are equipped to handle large parties. They offer food and beverage packages with your yacht rental. You can have an open bar, pass around hors d’oeuvres, and a full sit-down dinner. They can also provide a DJ and allow for custom decorations throughout the yacht.

Best Luxury Yachts for a Wedding

When renting a traditional yacht for a wedding, we always recommend something with a large flybridge so that you have space for everyone to be seated outdoors for the wedding ceremony.

What Time of Year is Best?

Miami has beautiful weather all year round. We typically find that the best months to host a wedding in Miami are from November to April. During these months, Miami has much cooler weather and there is also far less rain. In the summer months it can get very hot in Miami and there are usually thunderstorms in the afternoon during the summer which can make it hard to plan an outdoor wedding on a yacht.

Beautiful Scenery

One of the hardest parts of planning a wedding is selecting a picturesque venue. But when you host your wedding on a yacht, this is never a problem. You can easily sail to an extremely picturesque location when you are out on the water. You can have the perfect waterfront view of the Miami Skyline in the background of all your wedding shots. You can sail over to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Star Island, Fisher Island, or Key Biscayne. Any location that you can access from the water can be the backdrop for your wedding.

Entertainment and Fun

Most event yachts can come fully equipped with multiple dance floors and DJ booths to keep the party going all night. Hosting your wedding on a yacht makes things super easy because the wedding venue and the reception venue are all in one spot. You can have a stunning ceremony on the upper deck then head inside for a sit-down meal and tons of partying.

Capturing you Special Day

Like with any wedding, you want to make sure to hire a professional photographer to come aboard for your big day. The photographer will be able to masterfully capture your love story along with the beautiful city of Miami in the background. Holding the ceremony just before sunset will help to ensure you get the best shots with the best lighting!
